Short answer: In most cases, yes. Ketamine infusion therapy is generally eligible for FSA and HSA funds when it is prescribed by a licensed provider to treat a diagnosed medical condition, such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, or chronic pain. At Ketamine Uplift, you can put your FSA or HSA dollars toward treatment, and you can combine that with our in-house financing to make care more manageable. Here is how it works.

A quick refresher on FSA and HSA accounts

A Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and a Health Savings Account (HSA) both let you set aside pre-tax money to pay for qualified medical expenses. Because the money goes in before taxes, you effectively pay for care with dollars that have not been taxed, which can stretch your budget. A few differences worth knowing: HSA funds roll over year to year and are yours to keep, while FSA funds often follow a use-it-or-lose-it rule by the end of the plan year.

Is ketamine therapy FSA or HSA eligible?

Generally, yes, with an important condition. Ketamine therapy is typically an eligible medical expense when a licensed clinician administers it to treat a diagnosed condition, and you have documentation of that diagnosis. It is not considered eligible when the purpose is framed as general wellness, optimization, or personal growth. In other words, eligibility hinges on ketamine being part of legitimate medical care for a real condition.

Two practical tips:

  • Keep an itemized receipt. Even if you pay with an FSA or HSA card, the IRS can later ask for proof that the expense was for qualified medical care, so save your documentation with your tax records.

  • Ask about a Letter of Medical Necessity. For some plans, a Letter of Medical Necessity from your provider, outlining your diagnosis and clinical rationale, strengthens your claim or is required.

Because rules and individual plans vary, confirm the details with your FSA or HSA administrator, and check with a tax professional if you are unsure. This article is educational and not tax advice.

How to use your FSA or HSA at Ketamine Uplift

Using these funds is usually straightforward. You can often pay directly with your FSA or HSA debit card, or pay another way and reimburse yourself from your account. Either way, we can provide an itemized receipt for your records, and our team can walk you through what you may need. All of our payment plans are FSA and HSA eligible.

Financing we built in-house

Here is something that makes Ketamine Uplift a little different: rather than send you to an outside lender, we built our own financing in-house, so paying for treatment can fit your life. Our standard course is 8 infusions, and the full price is $3,999. You can choose how to pay:

  • Upfront: $3,399 as a single payment, which is 15 percent off the full price.

  • Split-Pay: $1,000 down, then $237 per month for 11 months (about $3,599 total). The down payment already includes a discount.

  • Flexible: $333 per month for 12 months at 0 percent interest, with no large payment up front.

If you are returning for maintenance, we also offer boosters and standalone infusions: a single infusion is $600, a four-pack is $2,200, and a six-pack is $3,000. Financing is available on our packages.

The best part: you can combine them

Because our plans are FSA and HSA eligible, you can use your pre-tax dollars and our financing together. That means you can put tax-advantaged money toward care and still spread the cost over time in a way that works for your budget. For many patients, that combination makes treatment feel a lot more reachable.

A note on insurance

FSA and HSA funds are separate from insurance reimbursement. If you also have out-of-network benefits, you may be able to submit a superbill for partial reimbursement on top of using these accounts. Our guide on whether ketamine infusions are covered by insurance walks through that in detail.

The bottom line

For most patients, ketamine infusion therapy is an eligible FSA and HSA expense when it is prescribed to treat a medical condition, which can make care more affordable with pre-tax dollars. Pair that with our in-house financing, and there are several ways to make treatment fit your budget. If you would like help understanding your options, our team is glad to walk you through them.
